Nasser Mohamed, the star of the Emirates League Cup final, was outstanding in his debut as a substitute during Saturday's match against Al Rayyan.
The striker scored twice and provided assists for his team-mates as they came from behind to win 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium. Mohamed made an immediate impact when he replaced Khalid Ali in the second half and immediately found the back of the net.
"I'm very happy that I was able to contribute," said Mohamed, who has been playing regularly for the club since joining them last summer. "It was important for me to be able to play well and help my teammates."
Al Rayyan were also boosted by the performances of their key players, including midfielder Mustafa El-Hilali and goalkeeper Ahmed Haddad. They had plenty of chances but could not find the back of the net, leaving it up to Mohamed and his teammates to take advantage of the situation.
"We needed to make sure we played our game and get into the rhythm of the match," said Mohamed. "We knew we had to be more clinical and create chances ourselves."
Despite the defeat, Mohamed is confident that his performance will help him to improve his game further and cement himself as one of the top strikers in the league. He remains focused on improving his skills and making a lasting impression on fans and managers alike.
"The goal is to keep improving and getting better every single day," said Mohamed. "I know there's still work to do, but I'm always pushing myself and working hard to reach my full potential."
